dc.description Paper delivered at the First International Conference on the Application of Physical Modelling to Port and Coastal Protection (Coastlab'06), Porto, Portugal, 8-10 May 2006 en_US
dc.description.abstract Advances in digital image technology has allowed us to use accurate, but relatively cost effective technology to measure a number of varied activities in physical models. The capturing and manipulation of high resolution digital images can be used to give useful information on the dynamics of waves, coastal structures and ship motions. The availability of digital cameras, at relatively low cost, has allowed easy transfer of digital images to the computer. This paper discusses recent advances of a number of applications, which have been successfully applied to physical scale modelling carried out at the CSIR. en_US
