dc.description.abstract This presentation deals with the excessive noise exposure that miners in South African mines are exposed to. This exposure limits communication and compromises safety, increases risk of hearing loss, has implications for worker’s health, impacts on their quality of life and their employment prospects. Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) can be prevented with noise control engineering being the main method of NIHL prevention. en
