This report provides an overview of the Hartenbos estuary of the Cape Coast dealing with aspects such as climate, geology, soils, catchments, run-off, vegetations, oceanography and estuaries. In this report available information on Hartenbos estuary is summarised and presented and it provides understanding of the functioning of estuarine systems under the variable conditions prevalent along the South African coastline. The Hartenbos and its catchment lie within a region of bimodal rainfall.
