The document is an act to promote scientific and industrial research and has the purpose to (i) establish a South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, (ii) define the objects for which it is established, (iii) prescribe the manner in which it shall be managed and controlled, and (iv) provide for other incidental matters.
