dc.description.abstract Many smokeless fuels are of low reactivity and thus not very suitable for use in open fire places as the ignition delay is unduly long and rate of heat release is low. It would appear that these properties may be modified in a favorable sense by mixing woodchips with such fuels. This obviously increases the quantity of smoke generated, but wood-smoke is generally considered than that produced by coal. en_US
