Proper addresses provide people with a social status: a sense of identity and being recognised as a proper citizen. They are needed for goods and service delivery, disaster relief, voting or just visiting friends. Good quality addresses are vital for mapping COVID-19 cases to identify emerging infection clusters, target responses and trace contacts. However, address data are maintained in silos, with limited coordination, adherence to standards or using good practices for addressing and information management.
