There is a need for models and tools, to better understand/explore the impacts of future policies on land use, to predict behaviour under specific scenarios, inputs and pressures, to study, understand and explore links and phenomenas. Urban growth models have proven to be effective decision support tools to determine the possible effects that planning policies could have.
